How it works

From release plan to holdover

  1. 01

    Plan the release

Set targets and see suggested cinemas, ranked by our ticket-sales monitoring and your past results, as a list or on a map.

  2. 02

    Book in the grid

Drag across the weeks or book a whole chain at once, with terms filled in from your defaults.

  3. 03

    Confirm and deliver

Send the confirmation for signature, and DISTmio proposes the copy and key orders.

  4. 04

    Decide holdovers

Every Monday, compare each cinema's weekend with the film's average and extend, keep or reduce shows.

Booking terms

Terms that fill in by themselves

Set default terms once for a country, chain, booking agency, cinema group, cinema or film, and each new booking takes the most specific rule. Every figure shows its source and can still be changed on the booking.

  • Shares by week from release, guarantees and flat fees
  • US terms with house nut and sliding scales
  • Four-wall rentals and booking types of your own

Holdovers

Monday holdover decisions in minutes

The holdover board lists every booking ending this week, with weekend admissions against the film's average and your own thresholds. Extend, keep or reduce shows per cinema, and an extension prepares the matching key in the same step.

  • Suggestions when a cinema's shows keep selling out
  • Holdover offers sent to cinemas through the portal
  • Every cinema's results in one weekly grid

Cinemas order, you answer in one click

Cinemas order your films from a catalogue in the cinema portal, and you accept, decline or send a counter-offer with an expiry date. For the films you choose, orders within your standard terms are accepted automatically.

  • Every order and counter-offer kept in one history
  • New orders waiting for you on the Today page
  • Cinema requests for films they would like to play

Call plan

A call list built from your release plan

The call plan lists the cinemas in your release plans that still need a call, with the contact person and the last conversation. Note the outcome and a call-back date, and open the booking from the same card when a cinema says yes.

  • Contacts and history taken from the cinema card
  • Follow-up dates that become tasks for your team
  • Overdue follow-ups shown on your Today page

Questions

Booking questions, answered

What if a cinema plays fewer shows than agreed?

DISTmio compares the agreed shows with the cinema's published programme and lists every difference, so you can raise it with the cinema before the week is settled.

What happens to the KDM when we extend a booking?

The key is extended with the booking, and the KDM for the extra days is prepared in the same step. Nothing goes to the lab or the cinema until you confirm it.

Do cinemas have to use the cinema portal?

No. Cinemas can order, confirm and report in the portal, and anything they send by other means can be recorded in DISTmio by your team.

We book some cinemas through booking agencies. Is that supported?

Yes. Assign cinemas to an agency, and booking documents and keys go to the agency's contacts, with a weekly eTB bundle for German agencies.
