How it works

Four steps from figures to payment

  1. 01

    Collect the figures

Admissions and box office arrive from cinema reports, the cinema portal or your inbox.

  2. 02

    Calculate the rent

DISTmio applies the booking terms week by week, with ticket VAT and levies deducted under the country's rules.

  3. 03

    Approve the settlement

Compare it with the cinema's statement, then approve it within your tolerance or open a dispute.

  4. 04

    Invoice and collect

Issue invoices or e-invoices, send reminders and match each bank payment to the right invoice.

Rent calculation

Every deduction shown, week by week

Each settlement runs from gross box office through ticket VAT and national levies to the net base, then applies the share, guarantee, flat fee or scale for each cinema week. Every figure shows how it was calculated.

  • Local rules, from the German handbook formula to the French bordereau
  • Settle on preliminary figures and update when final ones arrive
  • Approved settlements locked, with a reason for every later change

Questions

Settlement questions, answered

How does DISTmio calculate German settlements?

With the formula of the German industry handbook: box office less 7% VAT, the FFA levy deducted from net, then the rental share and additional costs, rounded by Methode 2. Settlements can be split by screen, and each play week has its own TB number.

Can German cinemas send a Gutschrift instead of our invoice?

Yes. Mark the payer as self-billing and record the cinema's Gutschrift, and any difference from your settlement appears as its own line, ready for an objection letter in German.

Can French cinemas be settled like a CNC bordereau?

Yes. Each French booking is settled week by week with TSA, Sacem and the minimum rent per admission, and DISTmio warns you when a rental rate falls outside the legal range.

Can we keep our accounting program?

Yes. Export invoices and payments in your program's format, such as DATEV, FEC, SIE or JPK, or connect a supported invoicing program to issue the invoices while DISTmio reads back their status and payments.
