What an Indian distributor needs

GST by ticket price band

Each cinema carries its ticket GST band, 5% up to INR 100 and 18% above, plus any state entertainment tax, all removed before your share.

Weekly sharing terms

A preset fills the usual weekly shares of 50, 42.5, 37.5 and 30% as a starting point. Your contract decides.

GSTIN checked

Your GSTIN and every payer's GSTIN are checked with their check digits, so a wrong number is caught before invoicing.

CBFC certificates

Films carry their CBFC certificate per version, with a warning on bookings when one is missing.

Indian settlement

Weekly shares, net of GST

DISTmio removes ticket GST at the cinema's band and any state entertainment tax, then applies your share for each week of the run. Approved settlements become rent invoices with 18% GST, ready for the IRP.

  • Share that steps down by week of release
  • Rent GST of 18% (SAC 9973)
  • GST e-invoices in the IRP format

Questions

India: common questions

Is state entertainment tax handled?

Yes. Each cinema carries its state's entertainment tax, removed together with ticket GST before your share.

Can we use our own sharing terms?

Yes. The weekly preset is only a starting point. You set shares for the company, a chain, a cinema or a single booking, and the narrowest rule wins.
