What a Japanese distributor needs

Qualified invoices with T-number

Your registration number is checked and printed on every rent invoice, with consumption tax shown at 10%.

10% consumption tax built in

Japanese cinemas start with 10% consumption tax inside ticket prices and on rent.

Rental share preset

A preset fills the usual rental of about 50% as a starting point. Your contract decides.

Eirin ratings

Films carry their Eirin rating per version, with a warning on bookings when one is missing.

Japanese settlement

Net of consumption tax, week by week

DISTmio removes the consumption tax included in ticket prices and applies your rental share, guarantee or flat fee for each cinema week. Approved settlements become qualified invoices carrying your T-number.

  • Rental share, guarantee or flat fee
  • Consumption tax shown on every invoice
  • Your T-number printed automatically

Questions

Japan: common questions

Is the T-number checked?

Yes. DISTmio checks your registration number and your payers' numbers, and flags any that look wrong before invoicing.

Can we use our own rental terms?

Yes. The 50% preset is only a starting point: you set terms for the company, a chain, a cinema or a single booking, and the narrowest rule wins.
