What a UK distributor needs

On-date and off-date

Each booking shows whether a cinema plays from the national opening or later, so holdovers and KDM windows match the release plan.

BBFC and IFCO ratings

Films carry BBFC ratings per version, and IFCO for Ireland, printed on booking confirmations with a warning when one is missing.

Friday cinema week

Booking grids, play weeks and the Monday holdover board run Friday to Thursday.

UK and Ireland together

If you release in both, each film shows one combined card of UK and Irish results.

UK settlement

Net box office, settled week by week

DISTmio removes VAT from gross box office and applies your terms for each cinema week: a share that steps down by week, a house nut, a flat fee or a guarantee. Cinema statements are compared with these figures before you approve.

  • Terms cascade from company to single booking
  • Differences flagged against your tolerance
  • Disputes tracked per settlement

Questions

UK: common questions

Can our accountant keep using Xero or Sage?

Yes. Invoices and payments go to Xero, Sage 50 or QuickBooks, so nothing is typed twice.

Does DISTmio handle Irish cinemas too?

Yes. Irish cinemas get IFCO ratings and the Irish ticket VAT of 13.5%, and a combined card shows UK and Irish results for each film.

How do statements from cinemas get in?

Upload the file, or let cinemas send it through the cinema portal. Each statement is matched to its booking and compared with your terms.
